HDR (Hight Dynamic Range) photography is one of the more recent buzz words among photographers because it creates a color environment that has the ability to capture 32 bits of color and tonal information. Even though our cameras will not capture this extended range of information in a single exposure we have the ability to do so through software such as Photoshop, Lightroom and Photomatix. The question is, once we have captured that extended tonal and color information then what next?
Stephen Burns will share what he feels is some of the most important features in creating an HDR (High Dynamic Range) image in preparation for completing a single shot or Panoramic vision. The most important aspect of capturing an extended range image is the ability to capture B&W tonal information to produce the most expressive tone map of your work. In my opinion, digital photographers are so addicted to color that they have forgotten how critical it is to understand B&W especially as to how it applies to tone mapped images. In this webinar we will create everything from a B&W perspective and use color as the icing on the cake so to speak.
Day 1
We will meet in Balboa Park where you will be shown how to identify set up a scene that is optimal for high dynamic range capture.
Day 2
This will be a virtual class showing how to process your imagery from the day before using software like Photoshop, Lightroom,Photomatix or Aurora HDR to use tone mapping techniques only as the basis to producing something more expressive.
