THIS COURSE IS OPEN FOR REGISTRATION TO CURRENTLY ROSTERED FIREFIGHTERS WITHIN THE STATE OF WYOMING ONLY

- Friday, Oct 17 - 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
- Saturday, Oct 18 - 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Sunday, Oct 19 - 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Pre-requisites: Students MUST complete the Wyoming Fire Academy HMA online pre-requisite course and present acompletion certificate to the instructor to attend the HMO in person class. The link to register for the online course is https://wsfm.wyo.gov/training/hma-pre-requisite-course
You will also need to take the State Hazardous Materials Awareness exam prior to being issued a certification. If you need to take the Hazardous Materials Awareness test, you can request the testing through your Chief or Training Officer or reach out to me at dalton.sanders@wyo.gov and I will offer the test with the Operations test.
Students will need their FEMA SID NUMBER for the written test.
Course Description: Hazardous materials are found in every jurisdiction, community, workplace and modern household. Incidents involving these materials can be caused by such factors as human error, package failure, and transportation accidents. Because of the harmful characteristics of these substances, first responders must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to address incidents involving hazardous materials in a safe and effective manner.
Note: ***This course incorporates classroom and practical training for hazardous materials response at the operations level. Students will need to bring personal protective structural gear and an SCBA. ***
