Purpose: Educate students on identification of and response to hazardous materials incidents. Includes sections on: planning response, implementing procedures, decision making, and continued evaluation. State written and practical will be administered at the end of academy.

Equipment: IFSTA 5th Edition Hazardous Materials for First Responders Structural Fire PPE that meets NFPA 1500 Department issued SCBA with mask and fit test (you supply book and PPE)

Pre-requisite: Must have current affiliation with a fire department

The Estes Valley Fire Protection District has been protecting the Estes Valley since 1907. The District employs seven career employees and 40 volunteer members. The department serves 70 square miles in the Town of Estes Park and unincorporated Larimer County. Estes Valley Fire shares mutual aid agreements with the Allenspark FPD, Pinewood Springs FPD, Loveland Fire Rescue Authority, Lyons FPD, Glen Haven VFD, Big Elk VFD, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Larimer County Emergency Services.
