Overview
This workshop series introduces participants to the art and practice of field recording using smartphones. Through guided listening, hands-on exercises, and creative prompts, participants will develop skills in sonic awareness, sound capture, editing, and presentation.
Tools:
- Smartphone (iOS or Android)
- Headphones or earbuds
- Writing utensil (pen or pencil)
- Notebook, sketchpad, or clipboard with paper
- Phone charger
- Portable Bluetooth speaker (optional, for playback sessions)
- DIY windscreen materials (sock, foam, faux fur, etc.)
- Plastic cup or paper cone (for directional mic experiments)
- Scissors and Tape
