Bird Fest is back for its third consecutive year! Join us for guided birding and botany walks, nature exploration, citizen science research, community celebration, and so much more!


  • Learn bird identification techniques from environmental educators from NC Bird Atlas and NC Wildlife Resources. Binoculars and spotting scopes will be available to borrow from Field Inclusive!
  • Explore native bird habitats and learn about creating bird-friendly backyards from botanists from Bottom Up Native Plants
  • Contribute your birdwatching observations to the North Carolina Bird Atlas citizen research project
  • Connect with fellow birding enthusiasts and nature lovers in a welcoming and serene setting!


Bird Fest is FREE to attend but REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Please visit the Eventbrite page linked in the “Tickets” section of this page to register.


All ages are welcome.


Food and drink will be available for pre-purchase from The Butcher’s Daughter and same-day purchase through Pony Up Cafe and the Hawkins Loop Snack Bar.


Seating will be available in designated observation areas. Guests are also encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for personal use.


Bird Fest will take place rain or shine, except in the case of forecasted lightning or high winds. Some vendors or activities may not be available in case of inclement weather.
