Haus of Kennard: A Legacy in Motion is a powerful short film that celebrates the dynamic fusion of artistry, discipline, and community uplift through the world of dance. Spearheaded by Keenan Kennard, a dedicated coach and mentor who has been transforming lives through movement for over 11 years in Chattanooga, this film explores the story behind the brand “Haus of Kennard”—a name synonymous with precision, passion, and Black excellence.
Specializing in jazz, lyrical, majorette, and majorette hip-hop dance styles, Kennard has cultivated a safe and inspiring space for Chattanooga’s youth, using dance as both a creative outlet and a tool for teaching structure, discipline, and self-worth. His mentorship has empowered many students to pursue higher education, with several earning spots on dance lines at prestigious Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
The documentary offers an intimate look into his journey, highlighting testimonies from former dancers.
