At YWCA Metropolitan Detroit, our mission is unwavering: to create safety, empowerment, and hope for families in crisis. In 2025 alone, our Interim House has sheltered 199 residents — including 123 children — offering not just emergency housing, but a sanctuary where healing begins.
✨ 11,115 nights of safety and care, open 24/7, our shelter provides warm meals, clothing, and a place to sleep without fear. Every night is a step toward recovery.
✨ Facility upgrades that restore dignity
- A new security gate now protects our shelter grounds and provides safety for our clients
- Our Empowerment Kitchen has been renovated to further serve nourishing meals
- Living quarters have been refreshed to foster peace and healing
- Our Nurse Navigation Program connects residents to vital health screenings and care
