Overview

Hands-on, skill-building series designed for Maui farmers, gardeners, and community members to learn to preserve the bounty of our islands

Across four interactive workshops, participants will explore and learn practical techniques such as canning, pickling, fermentation, dehydration, and proper storage methods. Each session includes demonstrations, guided practice, and opportunities to share knowledge with fellow participants.

Whether you want to build resilience, increase local food consumption, preserve the season, reduce food waste, reduce packaging, or simply enjoy the satisfaction of preserving your harvest, this series equips you with the skills, confidence, and community connections to keep your local food fresh and sustainable year-round.

MFSN is planning to give the majority of what is preserved to Mauiʻs Fire Survivors.
