Harm Reduction

Presented by Tapestry Family Services in collaboration with MCAVHN Care and Prevention Network's Harm Reduction Program Manager, Joe Ditto

This training will discuss how Harm Reduction is an evidence-based spectrum of strategies utilized to support persons who use substances (PWUS). These strategies include safer use, managed use, abstinence, and meeting people “where they’re at” in addressing conditions of use along with the use itself. You will learn how MCAVHN follows eight guiding principles in practicing harm reduction and how to recognize the real and tragic harm and danger associated with illicit substance use.

This training is intended for Parents, Caregivers, Social Workers, Law Enforcement Personnel, Medical Professionals, Mental Health Providers, School Personnel, or anyone else that may have contact with persons who use substances.
