This course provides an insightful exploration of the Harm Reduction Model which can be used when supporting clients with Substance Use 1CE

This course provides an insightful exploration of the Harm Reduction Model which can be used when supporting clients with Substance Use Disorders (SUDs). The training will explore the principles and practices of the Harm Reduction Model including compassion, pragmatism, and individual empowerment. The training will delve into ways in which the Harm Reduction Model seeks to minimize the adverse consequences of substance use while prioritizing the overall well-being of clients.

This training provides a summary of the content that was referenced in part 1 of the training around supporting clients with substance use disorders. This course introduces the harm reduction model, explores the role of stigma and empathy, and covers practical applications of the harm reduction model. The training explores the challenges and benefits of using the harm reduction model and compares this to the recovery model covered in part one.

This is a beginner’s level course and there are no specific prerequisites for this course. The course is open to social work professionals, students, and individuals interested in gaining knowledge and skills related to Substance Use Disorders and the Harm Reduction Model


Audience

Psychologists, Social Workers, Psychotherapists, MFTs, LPCs, graduate-level Counselors, and any other mental health professionals/providers.


Certificates will be awarded after completion of the full Webinar and course evaluation.
