Course Description - This course provides an in-depth look at harm reduction principles and practices. Participants will learn to define harm reduction, identify core principles, and differentiate between successful and less successful approaches, including factors contributing to ineffective strategies. The course will also cover the DSM diagnostic criteria and ASAM's four-dimensional criteria for assessing treatment needs from a harm reduction viewpoint. Additionally, participants will explore three types of Medicated Assisted Treatments (MAT) and discuss the role of medicinal marijuana as a MAT option. Join us to enhance your understanding and skills in harm reduction!

About the Educator - Glenn Duncan LPC, LCADC, CCS, ACS has worked in behavioral healthcare for thirty-two years. He has lectured nationally on many topics, including clinical supervision. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Clinical Alcohol/Drug Counselor, a Certified Clinical Supervisor, and an Approved Clinical Supervisor. Glenn is currently the owner of Advanced Counselor Training, LLC since 2011. For 15 years, Glenn served as the Executive Director at Hunterdon Drug Awareness Program, Inc., retiring in 2018.
