You’ll learn how to make onigiri from scratch — starting with how to wash and prepare Japanese rice, shape and fill three rice balls with different tasty fillings, and then finish by decorating them with cute faces to create your own edible art pieces.
We’ll be using Special A Grade for over 30 years — KOSHIHIKARI rice (こしひかり) from Niigata Uomuma (新潟魚沼) and milled freshly in London, known for its strong sweetness, stickiness and Umami. The flavour is long lasting, so it's perfect for Onigiri.
Much like a sandwich in the West, onigiri are lovingly packed into bento for school or work by your family. They’re a symbol of care, creativity, and comfort — and might just become your new go-to healthy lunchbox idea!
