Hands On Training with API Form Selection Instrumentation
Overview
Hands On Training with API Form Selection Instrumentation
Choose the right solid form—confidently and fast. In this immersive, lab-based workshop you’ll rotate through XRPD (X-ray powder diffraction), PLM (polarized light microscopy), TGA (thermogravimetric analysis), DSC (differential scanning calorimetry), DVS (dynamic vapor sorption), and PSD (particle size distribution). Working as a team on an unknown small-molecule compound, you’ll design a mini form screen, collect and interpret real data, and build an evidence-based rationale for polymorph control and form selection. Along the way, we’ll connect instrument readouts—diffractograms, thermograms, sorption isotherms, and micrographs—to developability risks (hydrates/solvates, metastability, particle engineering) and the practical decisions that de-risk early CMC and set you up for first-in-human.
Who should attend: CMC, pre-formulation, and formulation scientists; early development teams looking to sharpen data interpretation and hands-on skills with solid-state tools. No prior instrument experience required—small class sizes ensure plenty of bench time and coaching.
You’ll leave with a concise workflow for API form selection, a checklist for confirming polymorphs/solvates, and tips to avoid common pitfalls when translating results into specs and control strategies.
