Hands-On Stain & Glaze with Max Thomas (speaker sponsored by G.C. America)
Overview
Speaker Bio
One could say that Max Thomas was born to be a dental tech. From the young age of five, Max has been raised in the lab environment and among passionate dental technicians. Before Max was given the handpiece and the opportunity to manage the family business, he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Business, and explored other career opportunities away from his hometown. Max’s drive to learn and lead in the dental field brought him back to the family business and earned him the honor of being featured in a 2018 IDT Magazine article named “The next Generation speaks.”. He strives to inspire the next generation of dental technicians within his lab, and labs in the surrounding areas. Max served as President of the Oregon Association of Dental Labs in both 2020 and 2023. This service gave him insight into the future of dentistry and how today’s decision making can empower the next generation of leaders.
Today, Max is the General Manager and Vice President of his family’s dental lab, Crown Creations Inc. He leads with a positive and can-do attitude and pushes his team to do the same. Max specializes in full mouth rehabilitation and heavily focuses on both fixed and implant supported restorations. As the industry continues to change and grow, Max is looking to the future and has high hopes that his now five year old daughter, Silver, will one day join the team and become a third generation lab owner.
Course Description
This hands-on training is designed to empower dental teams to take full control of the esthetic finishing process. With 15 years of lab experience and a lifetime raised inside the industry, I’ll walk you step-by-step through practical staining and glazing techniques that you can apply immediately in your own practice.
Dental assistants will gain a valuable new skill that elevates their role, increases clinical efficiency, and sharpens the practice’s esthetic results—without needing to outsource simple crown adjustments or final touches.
By learning how to individualize crowns chairside, your team can deliver a more natural, lifelike final restoration in less time, with more patient satisfaction, and a stronger sense of ownership over the final outcome.
