Hands-on Ergonomics: Simple Methods and Tools to Decrease Workplace Injuries

Join us for a lunch-and-learn to:

  • Participate in hands-on activities designed to teach safety practitioners or others tasked with ergonomic assessment how to discover and decrease risks in the workplace.

  • Learn about free and low cost resources available, including worksheets, online tools, and mobile apps, to help evaluate a variety of jobs.

  • Prevent future injuries related to lifting, repetitive motion, manual material handling, and more.

Event includes lunch, networking, presentation, and Q&A.

Series Partner: Augusta Tech, Enterprise Mill, Choose Columbia County

Speaker: Neely Bridges, Research Engineer with Georgia Tech Safety, Health, and Environmental, provides on-site assessments to identify physical hazards and evaluate technical programs for construction and manufacturing companies throughout Georgia. Her previous research includes analysis of current and proposed ergonomic assessment tools regarding their usefulness in evaluating and preventing occupational injuries. She is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt by the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, an Engineer-in-Training, and a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers.
