2 Classes - Saturday, June 21 & Sunday, June 22, 2025, 10 am — 2 pm.

With a focus on experimentation, this class will be an introduction to block printing and learning how to design and handprint continuous patterns on fabric. Students will come away from this course with knowledge of analog, fabric-based print production and mixed-media collage assembly. Join us as we explore the rich connections found within printmaking, collage, and fiber arts! All skill levels welcome.

About the Instructor:

Whitney Humphreys is a San Francisco Bay Area artist and teacher and a recent graduate of San Francisco Art Institute’s Dual Degree program, earning an MFA in Studio Practice, with a focus in printmaking and sculptural installation, as well as an MA in the History and Theory of Contemporary Art. With a research-based process, her work scrutinizes the ways visual culture and technologies influence individual and collective constructions of identity. She has exhibited throughout the Bay Area during her career as an artist, muralist, designer, maker, event coordinator, and instructor.


CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

Adult Classes $35 administrative fee will be charged for adult class cancellations. If you cancel your registration 14 days before the first day of class, the remainder of your class fee will be refunded, or you can apply your full class tuition as a credit towards another Kala class. With fewer than 14 days’ notice, you will only receive credit if we can fill your spot with another student from the waitlist. Cancellations requested less than 72 hrs before the first day of class or on and after the first day of class are not eligible for class credit.
