Description:
A hand stitched cloth book is a book where the pages are made of fabric and bound together using hand sewing techniques. Your fabric book can be a journal, a collection of practice work or an assembly of slow stitched pieces. It can tell a story or have a theme – such as a vacation or memoir, a season or the weather. In this two-part class, we will cut out and create four pages of a cloth book that measures 6×6.” We will cover the basic pattern and assembly techniques – how to make and sew in the “pages,” how to sew in or attach pieces of stitching, and how to design and attach a cover. If you have stitched pieces or fabrics that you might wish to include in your book, please bring them. Familiarity using a needle and thread required.
Bring to class: Materials fee includes cloth for four book pages, a variety of accent fabrics, hand sewing needles, cotton threads and cotton batting. Bring your small scissors if desired.
