Sponsored by Kasper’s Pool & Spa
Don your “big suit” and get ready to dance!
Celebrate Halloween at the Bell Tower with an ‘80s dance party featuring a screening of the iconic 1984 concert film, Stop Making Sense, by Jonathan Demme and Talking Heads.
Talking Heads were an American rock band formed in NYC in 1975, consisting of band members, David Byrne, Chris Frantz, Tina Weymouth, and Jerry Harrison. Described as “one of the most critically acclaimed groups of the ‘80s,” Talking Heads helped pioneer new wave music by combining elements of punk, art rock, funk and world music.
Stop Making Sense is considered by many critics to be one of the greatest concert films of all time and we will be showing the 2023 digitally remastered version by A24 Films. You will not want to miss the opportunity to see this film on the big screen. The lighting techniques and cinematography make the viewer feel as if they are part of the audience.
Talking Heads perform their most memorable hits including Psycho Killer and Burning Down the House and their music has a rhythm and beat that’s contagious, making it impossible not to dance!
Be sure to arrive early, grab a drink, have some food, while DJ GVT warms up the crowd with dance tunes before the start of the show! Space is limited, so reserve your tickets soon.
