Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know how to code?

Not at all! This hackathon is designed for participants of all skill levels. We encourage people with diverse backgrounds to join - from designers to business thinkers to developers. The focus is on creativity and problem-solving, not technical skills.

What if I've never participated in a hackathon before?

That's perfectly fine! Many participants will be first-timers. We'll provide workshops throughout the day to help you learn the necessary skills, and mentors will be available to guide you through the process.

Do I need to be in Michigan?

While the hackathon is focused on Michigan workforce challenges, we welcome participants from anywhere. The solutions created may have broader applications beyond Michigan as well.

What prizes can I win?

The winning teams will receive Raspberry Pi kits, which are powerful tools for continued learning and development. Beyond physical prizes, this is an opportunity to add a real project to your CareerStack profile and network with industry professionals.
