Welcome to the H2O Summer Science and Art Challenge: Create a Sustainable Water Future for Mount Pleasant!
Calling all rising 3rd - 8th kids! We need your help brainstorming how we can help create a sustainable water future for Mount Pleasant.
The challenge? Imagine it’s the year 2100. Our community has grown, and there is increased demand for water. Can you create a solution to help us continue to supply clean drinking water to our community?
Phase 1: Learn! Join Mount Pleasant Waterworks for a half-day Summer Challenge Opening Session on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 9:00AM-Noon to meet our staff, get a behind-the-scenes tour of our treatment plants, learn about how we protect clean water in our community, and have fun!
Phase 2: Create! Armed with your new knowledge and imagination, take the rest of summer to brainstorm your solutions to tackle our challenge question. Then build an interactive science and art display to explain your brilliant ideas for Mount Pleasant's water future!
Phase 3: Now, inspire! Present your science and art display at our Science and Art Challenge Showcase! On Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 4:30-6:30pm, participants are invited to Mount Pleasant Waterworks for an engaging evening focused on our sustainable water future. Participants will be invited to share their displays with judges and visitors and compete for the top age group prize!
Let’s come together to educate, inspire, and build a more sustainable water future for Mount Pleasant.
We hope you rise to the challenge!
