GVL Connect - December 2025

GVL Connect - December 2025

By Joanna Reese

Overview

Connect with fellow Upstate locals over wine and cheese. Great conversations + connections, building a stronger Greenville community!

✨ Welcome to GVL Connect - Sip, Learn, + Connect!✨

This isn’t your typical networking event — it’s about breaking bread, breaking barriers, and building real community.

Greenville, every month we come together as one community to shake hands, learn from each other, ask questions, and grow authentic connections will other locals.

What to Expect

First of all, parking is free at Venture X; and stress-free in the large, paved, lit parking lot. After check-in, grab a drink, snack on some charcuterie, and make some great connections. If you're an art-lover (or nervous introvert), feel free to wander around the building to take in the local art hung gallery-style around Venture X.

Around 6:30, the Nonprofit of the month will share about their local impact. Then Joanna will lead a thought-inspiring discussion—and you're part of it! Everyone is welcome to join the conversation as we dive into a “binary” topic (i.e. introvert vs. extrovert) and unpack the rich spectrum in between two opposing sides — not to debate, but to learn, grow, and connect with each other.

After the group discussion, everyone is invited to continue the connections and conversations over another plate before wrapping up by 8:00 pm

Event Organizer—Joanna Reese

Joanna Reese initially launched the GVL Connect event series in 2017 after relocating her marketing agency to Greenville from her hometown of Hendersonville, NC. Nearly a decade and a career change later, Joanna is still a community connector, promoting small businesses, elevating nonprofits, and advocating for others through her role in local government.

If you don't know where to look for answers to local needs, just ask Joanna. If she doesn't know the answer, she'll know who does!

Sponsor of the Month

Carolina Pride Team at KW Drive is sponsoring event supplies, promotion, food, and more! Be sure to follow them on Instagram to learn more about SC's 1st Queer-Centered Real Estate Team!

Non Profit of the Month

Nov/Dec 2025: TBA

October 2025: Friends of the Reedy River

August 2025: Julie Valentine Center.

Ticket Cost + Inclusion — $0

We provide a large spread for everyone, which typically includes meats, cheeses, dips, veggies, wine, beer, coffee, and more.

Surprise! We no longer charge for tickets, because we truly believe everyone's voice should be included in these conversations. Finances should never restrict someone's access to local community.

At the event, please consider making a donation towards the cost of food and drinks if you're able.
