GuineaFest: Celebrating Independence of Guinea for the Guinean Diaspora!!🎉🇬🇳🎉
GuineaFest is coming to Columbus this September 27th, 2025, to invite all descendants, family and friends of the Guinean community to celebrate the 67th independence of Guinea, immerse in the history and pride of the motherland, explore a variety of ethnic food and cultures, and take part in an important conversation on the advancement of the Guinean Diaspora and Guinea as a nation! Bring you friends, family, children, coworkers- all people across the USA are invited to have fun and learn of the valuable culture and history of Guinea through GuineaFest!❤️💛💚
GuineaFest will consist of a beautiful recitation of the national anthem, a cultural Djembe performance, an incredible historical presentation of the the history of Guinea from the Songhai Empire to Samory Toure to the election of Former President Sekou Toure and presentations of the many ethnic groups in Guinea, a Fashion Model Walk showcasing a variety of traditional outfits and some amazing local brands, activities: from dance competitions, face painting, Multilingual Translation Booths to practice ethnic languages, visit many vendors and organizations working in and with the Guinean community around the world, we will have fresh food sold stemming from various cultures of Guinea, and we will have our tremendous Guinean Diaspora Advacement Conference where reputable panelists will participate in a discourse of innovative and impact solutions to further advance the Guinean Diaspora regarding the topic "Unity Across Differences and Building Real Communities". Not to mention, we will be honoring the 3x champions of the Guinean Inter-State Soccer League; FC Syli Columbus! Be sure to watch our adult fundraising gala match to help support their hosting efforts in May 2026! Guineans from all over the Midwest USA are invited to come join and meet new people.
