Join us every third Saturday beginning March 15 until November 22 for Guided Plant Walks through Rancocas State Park in Mt. Laurel. Receive a discount when you register on our website.

Join naturalist Jeff Calhoun for guided courses to learn how to identify the herbs and trees growing all around us. Each month will be centered around a different plant theme.

April - Flowers + Medicinal Plants
May - General Plant ID
June - Trees
July - November - TBA

Courses will take place once a month on the third Saturday and run approximately 60 minutes. Participants will learn to identify plants, their growing conditions, cultural history, medicinal uses and how to utilize them. You will also receive a small notebook for taking field notes.

About your facilitator:
Jeff Calhoun is an amateur naturalist who has been foraging and identifying both native and non-native species of the eastern forest for 20 years. He has been practicing permaculture for 16 years and herbal medicine for 13 years. Jeff is the Director of Education at Saddler’s Woods Conservation Association, a project manager at Red Oak Permaculture, a Gloucester County Certified Gardner and a Community Certified Herbalist.

Meet at Spencer Park to reach the trailhead in Rancocas State Park.
