Why does it seem like meditation is so complicated and difficult to learn? You might feel like meditation is increasing your stress instead of relaxing you-- your mind occupied with thoughts like, "Wait? What exactly am I doing?" or "Stop thinking!" Your mind could also be filling with your to do lists! Despite ourselves, we can sometimes make a mess of what should be a simple meditation process, in part because we try too hard.
That's when guided meditation can be useful. In guided meditation, our practice is shaped by another person's voice. Because the mind has a tendency to wander where it will, many of us find it easier to focus and relax when our minds aren't entirely left on their own.
