First-year GTA? Attend the required GTA Kickoff to build your teaching foundation and start strong!

All Graduate Teaching Assistants teaching for the first time are required to attend the Spring GTA Teaching Kickoff, hosted by the Institute for Teaching and Learning Excellence (ITLE). This half-day event provides a strong foundation in pedagogy, essential teaching practices, and campus-specific resources to help you start the semester with confidence. Participants will explore strategies for building inclusive classrooms, creating a community of care, and navigating real challenges in teaching. Join us to connect with fellow GTAs, gain practical tools for your classroom, and begin your teaching journey at OSU with confidence and support.

Priority registration will be given to first-year GTAs who are teaching this semester. Returning GTAs (with more than one year of teaching experience) please complete the waitlist registration here, you will be notified if there is room. For further questions, please review our FAQ document.
