Guest Speaker: Brian Slawin, Director & Portfolio Manager, Ben Franklin Technology Partners

Brian Slawin is a passionate advocate for Leaders, Doers, Thinkers and Innovators. A serial technology entrepreneur and former software developer, airshow pilot and college professor, from the late nights to the last minute deadlines, from running out of money, to running out of ideas to capturing it all again, Brian says that being an entrepreneur is the best thing he’s ever done.

After successfully exiting several companies that he either co-founded or acquired, Brian relocated to Northwest Pennsylvania in 2015 and is now a Director and Portfolio Manager for the nation’s first and most impactful early stage investor. In his role at the Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Brian and his colleagues identify, mentor, support and directly participate in dozens of investments in emerging technology, accelerating startups and existing small manufacturers. By supporting a wide and diverse group of entrepreneurs, Brian’s work amplifies an awareness that great entrepreneurs can come from any corner of a community and he is personally committed to reinforcing the vision, passion and commitment of anyone who has fallen in love with a problem and can see an opportunity to innovate and make a positive economic impact.

In the spirit of “No Wrong Door”, Brian’s approach to collaborative economic development means he is always a ‘yes’ for a discussion with any entrepreneur who has an idea and just needs some help.
