University of Nevada Cooperative Extension is an outreach arm of the University that extends unbiased, research-based knowledge to local communities. Educational programs and projects are developed based on local needs in partnership with other agencies and volunteers.

Master Gardener Steve Chapluk will present an overview of vermicomposting and worm care. He will cover the basics of what you need to know related to keeping worm bins in southern Nevada. The presentation will discuss a selection of worm bins, the best type of worm to use, materials to use in the worm bin, and harvesting the compost/castings.
