Overview

How does understanding brain development guide our work with young children during?

Join School Counselor, Nick Packard, for an interactive workshop that introduces caregivers and educators to key concepts in brain development and emotional regulation, emphasizing how children must feel emotionally safe and regulated before they can engage in problem-solving or learning. Educators will walk away with strategies for engaging with children in a way that helps them to move through dysregulation and bring their whole brains back online for problem solving.

Nick Packard is a licensed social worker and Registered Play Therapist who has spent the last five years as the School Counselor at The Advent School. He is passionate about giving children and parents the tools to regulate emotions before jumping into solutions. As a father to a 6-year-old and a brand-new baby, he brings both professional experience and real-life parenting perspective to his work with families

This workshop is for teachers, program directors, leaders, and parents/caregivers.
