About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

This summer grounding series takes place in the peaceful evening hours, overlooking the South River marsh, surrounded by the calming presence of nature. As the sounds of the landscape create a serene backdrop, participants will explore how their bodies and overall well-being can benefit from a deeper connection with the natural world. The experience begins with a gentle check-in, noticing how you feel before the session unfolds. Our trauma-informed grounding specialist will then guide you through a meditation designed to foster connection with both your surroundings and yourself. The session concludes with a space for personal reflection and group sharing, allowing you to process how you felt before, during, and after the meditation. Journal prompts will be given to help deepen the experience.

Grounding offers a range of benefits, from promoting physiological balance and reducing stress to fostering emotional regulation and improving sleep. By engaging in grounding techniques, participants can reconnect with the present moment, shift from a state of high alert to relaxation, and experience the restorative effects of nature. Mindfulness practices will be woven throughout, enhancing awareness of thoughts, feelings, and sensations.
