Ground + Restore - Winter Somatic Stretch Class
Overview
Take 90 minutes of your day to turn inward and reconnect with your body. Each session includes targeted stretches designed to relax or awaken different physical, emotional, and energetic systems in your body, while deepening your perception skills.
Details:
The class will consist of a small introduction to the theory and purpose of the muscle chains we will activate and release for that day and support the three main human functions: thinking, feeling, and doing: Mind, Soul, and Spirit. We will spend most of the time practicing the stretches with space for integration throughout. The class will close with a short winter time reflection.
Background:
This group is based primarily on the Psychomotor theory and techniques of Dr. Niek Brouw, a developmental and movement-based system that supports regulation of the body and nervous system. The practice involves simple, accessible physical exercises that help calm, focus, and integrate body and mind, supporting deeper body awareness, emotional balance, and embodied connection.
