About this event
Enter into Groove Fellowship LIVE - Your Authentic Funk-In-Fusion and see why The Detroit Music Hall named them one of Detroit's "hottest up-and-coming bands" and why Detroit's own Queen of The Blues, Thornetta Davis, dubbed them "Detroit's Baddest Band!" Influenced by Prince, The B-52s, Miles Davis, The Ohio Players, The Isley Brothers, Cameo, The Yellowjackets, Parliament Funkadelic, Jimi Hendrix, Kraftwerk, The Police, Morris Day and The Time, and all the good stuff played late-night by Detroit’s own Electrifying Mojo in the '70s/'80s, Groove Fellowship is an all-original funk fusion group born, raised, schooled, living and working right here in Detroit. We dare you to leave without pickin' up your new favorite jam.
With the release of their latest full-length album, Street Corner Musician, they've played at top venues here in Detroit, as well as large local festivals in the Metro Detroit area, across the state, and into Illinois—with way more to come. They've seen radio play both here at home, in the Chicago area, and abroad. With drummer Lem Joyner, guitarist Kevin Jackson, and bass player/vocalist Dan Gamlin already at work on their next album release, there are only bigger grooves ahead and you're invited to jump aboard and funk along for the ride.
Groove Fellowship is managed by Tonya V Thomas and publishing on the independant label, DAG Media Productions LLC.
