Grieving Bowl Series: #2 - Chronic Illness
Overview
As we are entering the season of cooling down and moving inside, The Grieving Bowl returns to offer our 2nd theme, Chronic Illness. This series is offered to anyone who is navigating ongoing illness. Together, we will build a communal space to face the long grief of an ongoing illness.
This series may be for you if:
- you have been navigating illness for a long time
- you have just found out that you will be facing and navigating a chronic illness
- if it is an illness of body or mind
In this series, you will have the experience of:
- being heard and held in your vulnerability
- of being reminded that you are not alone
- learning and being encouraged by each other’s stories
- breathing deeply, with compassion into your reality
- loosening or shifting the way you are in relationship to illness
- tending the aspects of illness that are not going to change
This is a virtual series. Explore, express your grief in the privacy you choose.
- in 4 sessions we will share our stories, be witnessed in our expression and get to hold space for each other. We get to build a relationship with chronic illness through the lens of our grief and compassion, or deepen into an already existing relationship.

MEET THE FACILITATOR:
Peace and blessings. I am Reverend Rhetta Morgan, Sacred Ceremony Guide, Singing Healer and Facilitator
I have been creating spaces for sacred ceremonies since well before my ordination as Interfaith minister in 2009. To lead gatherings for healing, singing, grief work and spiritual growth is my passion. Most importantly, I have been tending my own grief and learning from the experience of grieving for well over 50 years. If this series speaks to you I invite you into a virtual container where we will accompany each other in this journey of navigating a grief with no end.
MY WHY:
For as long as I can remember I have been in a relationship with physical or emotional pain. I have cultivated powerful spiritual practices that help me heal from what can be released and make meaning and peace with what lingers. Because of this work I am not angry or sad all the time. I have found that grief work, especially in community, is integral to accessing my gratitude and joy.
