In this workshop:
At some point in all of our lives, we will experience the acute pain of grief. Whether it is the death of a loved one, either sudden or expected, an ending of a relationship, the loss of a beloved pet, a decline in health, an empty nest or any change or transition that leaves life different than what we are accustomed to, loss is inevitable. As common and unavoidable as grief is, it is a hard process to navigate and there aren’t enough safe places to talk about and process our grief.
We hope that this 90 minute gathering will offer a much needed space for sharing and healing. In this interactive workshop, you will learn what is going on in the brain and body that make grief one of the most profoundly painful experiences humans have to navigate.
You will learn the various ways that grief impacts a person, why different people grieve differently, how to cope with the range of emotions that grief evokes, and tools to make the painful process more bearable.
Gently led by Marna Brickman, LCSW-C, grief specialist, and co-owner of Guiding Therapy, this workshop will offer comfort to those mourning the loss of any kind.
As painful and heavy as grief is, there can be growth and meaning in our losses. The goal of this workshop is for you to leave feeling a little bit lighter than when you arrived and for you to find strength in the love that brought you here.
