Grief in Colour: An Expressive Arts Evening
Overview
Grief often lives in the body, in colour, and in shape. It doesn’t always speak in words.
This two-hour online gathering offers a space to slow down, make art, and meet your grief with tenderness and curiousity.
Together, we will explore what it’s like to touch grief gently through expressive art and shared witnessing. You will be guided through grounding, creative expression, and reflection, with time to connect with others who are also carrying loss in its many forms: death, endings, change, identity, health, or love.
No artistic experience is needed. You will be invited to create, not to perform.
This evening is for you if:
- You are carrying loss and want a space to honour it softly.
- You long for connection in grief without pressure to fix or explain.
- You are drawn to art as a way to listen to what is inside.
What to expect:
- Grounding and gentle orientation
- A guided expressive art process using materials you already have at home (paper, pens, markers, collage materials, etc.)
- Optional sharing and witnessing
- A collective closing ritual
You can keep your camera off during art-making, and there is no expectation to share your work. Your process is yours to hold.
This evening will be facilitated by Amanda de Waal, Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), an experiential trauma therapist who integrates art and relational presence in her work with grief and transformation.
If finances feel like a barrier right now, you are still welcome here. Please reach out to amandadewaaltherapy@gmail.com and I will make sure you have a free ticket.
