Description

Do you know what happened?

Lunar landing module

**** Junior High School and Intermediate School Students ****

If you attended any of our 2019 sessions, you already received a free micro:bit kit.

Pease join us for our July 7th session to receive and begin working with your very own free micro:bit (see above picture) kit thanks to Ninestar Connect!

The micro:bit is a tiny programmable computer, designed to make learning fun!

Do you know what happened on July 20th, 1969? Despite being 50 years ago, I still remember that day. It is, of course, the day American astronaut Neil Armstrong took the first step on the moon. Our first activity - called Moonhack - will celebrate that incredible event using our micro:bits. Then, we are going to try something just a little different. We will be creating two simple games using a very similar platform by Microsoft called arcade.

  • Moonhack - We will be guiding our lunar module to a landing site on the moon

  • Chase the Pizza - We will introduce the arcade platform with a simple food game

  • Simple Maze - Our second arcade game includes drawing and escaping from a maze

IMPORTANT: If you have already received a free micro:bit kit, please bring it with you!
