Dear Neighbor,

In recent years, the greater Excelsior area has experienced an unprecedented number of weather related shocks. From heatwaves to poor air quality events, our community is facing a whole new set of threats to the health and well-being of our residents, especially the vulnerable.

Now, thanks to a grant from Sup. Ahsha Safai, the Excelsior Community Collaborative has launched Resilient Greater Excelsior Area (RGEA). RGEA’s goal is to create a culturally competent strategy to make smart investments in our neighborhood today, so that when times of stress arrive, we will be prepared to care for each other and ensure that our community will continue to thrive.

In order to move forward with the development of our strategy we have one goal – TO HEAR FROM YOU!

We hope you will join us on Wednesday, September 25th from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Ingleside Station to:

• Share what shocks (i.e. earthquakes, power outages and heatwaves) you are most concerned about

• Which members of our community are you most concerned about

• What kind of investments should we make to protect our vulnerable neighbors

Dinner will be served, so please arrive at 5:45pm – have a bite – and we will start the mtg. promptly at 6:00pm.
