Grasping at Straws: Reflections in an Activist Trajectory

GRASPING AT STRAWS: Reflections on an Activist Trajectory is coming to Minneapolis this June! A solo performance by Lucy London, GRASPING AT STRAWS tells stories from Lucy's experiences as an environmental activist, water protector, and human being dealing with questions of agency, responsibility, and purpose.

Through original music, community singing, and crankie puppets, Lucy faces complex questions of changemaking while walking through pivotal chapters of her life. GRASPING AT STRAWS explores moments of dogged righteousness amidst moments of confusion: from her days as "the straw girl" in high school, proudly preaching personal sustainability, to living at Indigenous-led resistance camps, fighting against the Line 3 tar-sands pipeline.

How do we find our voice amidst contradictory ideologies? How do we see ourselves as a mirror through which the Earth can fall in love with itself? What are our original instructions? Come witness the beauty and complexity of another's story as a means to reflect on your own.
