Learn the fundamentals of grant writing, with an emphasis on understanding opportunities and building your own, step-by-step process for writing and managing a grant. This session is primarily structured as a lecture presentation with Q&A opportunities.

Grants 101 (Part 2)

Using collaborative exercises in writing, calendaring, and project management, Grants 102 equips attendees to strengthen their leadership skills. Please note that Grants 102 is designed to build on material from Grants 101, and will not spend significant time revisiting earlier content. It is strongly encouraged that participants already have grant-writing experience or participate in Grants 101 before attending.

About Colleen

Colleen McLellan is a nonprofit advancement professional, advocate, and enthusiast for community-building programs. She lives in Detroit’s beautiful East English Village and consults for nonprofits in and beyond the city. Her grants background includes education, civic engagement, human services, and the arts. Her teaching is designed to help participants--especially Detroiters--gain the skills and confidence they need to pursue grants for the causes that move them.
