About GPS Group Peer Support

GPS is a trauma-responsive, evidence-based group model used nationwide in healthcare, mental health, recovery, and community settings. It integrates CBT, MI, and mindfulness within a strengths-based framework to create safe, transformative group experiences.

As a facilitator, you’ll learn to adapt the GPS model to multiple contexts — from high-stress work environments to community support spaces — where people face challenges like burnout, stress, compassion fatigue, and systemic pressures.

TRAINING SCHEDULE


Duration and Format

The program spans seven months, combining live interactive workshops with self‑paced learning. Each month builds on the previous session, giving you time to integrate the material into your own community context.

The training includes an Opening Practicum and a series of seven core workshops. Live attendance is strongly encouraged; however, all sessions will be recorded and available to registered participants to allow for the utmost in flexibility and accommodation.

MONTHLY WORKSHOPS

All workshops are from 7-9:00 pm ET. Recordings will be available for those who cannot attend live.

  • July 14 | Integration Skill Session: Leading GPS Support Groups in Practice

Continuing Education & Support

  • Up to 20 CME/CEU credits available (AAPA, NASW MA, and LMHC eligible; LADC eligible; accepted by many licensing boards)
  • Certificates are provided upon completion of practicum, workshops, and the necessary accompanying work
