Description

Please join us on on September 26th, when the winner and finalists from this year’s Governance Matters' Brooke W. Mahoney Award for Outstanding Board Leadership will sit down with David Birdsell, Marxe Dean of the Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs at Baruch College, and Chair of Governance Matters, for a frank conversation about what makes their Boards–and their organizations–successful.

These three organizations, which include The HOPE Program, (our 2017 winner), America Needs You and BCA Global have developed robust strategies for ensuring that their boards are vigorously engaged stewards of organizational mission, deeply prepared fiduciaries preserving the public interest, and dedicated fundraisers able to help sustain their organizations financially. In a wide-ranging panel discussion, the panelists will share information about how they built such strong boards and entertain questions from the audience. This is a terrific opportunity for anyone looking to strengthen their board practices, including current and prospective board members, senior nonprofit staff, and anyone interested in effective charities. The program is organized by Governance Matters and co-sponsored by Baruch College's Center for Nonprofit Strategy and Management.

More About the Brooke W. Mahoney Award
