Attending a Basic Gap Course May Be Right for You if...

You grow fruits or vegetables and are interested in developing a good safety plan to increase operational efficiency and build a food safety culture.
You want help in writing your food safety plan.
You are looking to learn more about how microbes live and interact with farm environments, and/or
You have a potential buyer that requires MD Gap certification.

What You'll Get from This Training

Tips on how to implement practices to minimize your food safety risk during growing, harvesting, holding and packing fresh fruits and vegetables.
Practice conducting risk assessments.
Practice writing Standard Operating Procedures.
Assistance on writing your food safety plan (aiming for 80% completion!)
A Maryland Department of Agriculture GAP training certificate.

Online Course Logistics and Registration Information

The Basic Gap training will take place over two half day sessions: (Part I) Monday, March 22nd & (Part II) Tuesday, March 23rd from 8am - 12pm
Course materials include a Basic GAP training binder and USB. When you register please enter the address you would like the training binders and USB's sent to you. Registration will close on March 7th at noon to allow time for shipping binders.
One day prior to training the link with the webinar log in information will be sent to the email address you provided. The zoom link will be used for both sessions.
You must attend both part one and part two of the course to receive an MDA GAP training certificate.
