Goldfish Swim School Open Family Swim (OPEN TO THE PUBLIC)

🐡 Come swim at Goldfish Swim School - St. Matthews!

Whether you want to help your children practice their swimming skills or your family needs some bonding time, a Family Swim is a great way to spend an afternoon. Enjoy your day or evening in our shiver-free pool that’s heated to a pleasant 90°.

Members are FREE and non-members are $5/person and a max of $15/family. Payable at at the front desk on the day of the event.

💦 As a parent, you’re probably well aware that kids don’t truly know if they’ll enjoy something until they dive in and do it. Fortunately, most kids love the water.

This open swim time can benefit your whole family because:

• You can teach your child about water safety & introduce him or her to the water
• You can relax in our warm pool while your swimmer shows you his or her skills
• You can determine if your child would benefit from swim lessons
• Spending time in the pool together is a great way to get energy out
• Your child will feel more comfortable with you in the water

🛟 Important Safety Reminders:

• Please note that we do require reusable swim diapers (no disposable) in our pool; they hold in the contaminates best!
• For safety purposes, we require at least one adult to be in the water with each child who cannot swim independently during the open swim.
• Adults are required to remain in facility with minors.
• Only proper swim attire is permitted in the pool; no street clothes permitted.

🏊🏽 SWIM TEST REQUIRED

• Our pool is 4'2'' deep. All children that cannot touch with their head above water will be required to pass a swim test at the start of open swim. In order to pass a swim test, the child must swim 25 feet across the width of the pool without struggle; Ellis Certified Lifeguard will make final determination.
• Lifejackets or puddle jumpers that fasten around the center are required for all children that do not pass. Coast guard approved life jackets are available at the facility.
• If a guardian chooses to accompany the child in the pool 100% of the time, they may remove floatation and practice swim skills with a parent.
• We do not allow single arm floaties that do not buckle around the chest for additional support.

Please Note that Family Swim is CANCELLED on the 4th Saturday of each month to allow for team member training. There is no Family Swim scheduled on the following dates:

• Mar 22nd (4th Saturday)
• Apr 26th (4th Saturday)
• May 17th (3rd Saturday, due to Memorial Day)
• Jun 28th (4th Saturday)
• Jul 26th (4th Saturday)
• Aug 23rd (4th Saturday)
• September 20th (3rd Saturday due to Louisville Public School Fall Break)
• Oct 25th (4th Saturday)
• Nov 22nd (4th Saturday)
