Frequently asked questions

When and where does the program meet?

FTU meets pretty much most Saturday mornings at 8am. We meet ALL over the Portland area and alternate locations each weekend so you don’t get bored with the same course over and over again and it keeps it interesting. We usually rotate between each Foot Traffic store location.

I have no idea which pace I'm in. How do I find out?

No worries! We offer a pace evaluation day the second weekend of the program and we can also teach you how to do a pace evaluation on your own! Pace groups are not set in stone and we usually expect your to switch pace groups up or down as needed when you settle into a rhythm during the program.

I'm not sure if I should sign up for the half program or just start with the 5K or 10K program?

It's an easy process to start with the 10K program and then upgrade to the half marathon program after you've made it to that point. Step by step and build confidence as you go! We usually see about 90% of participants that do this end up joining the half program after!

Which pace groups do you usually have?

These can adjust based on on the pace of our membership each season, but usually we cover: Running: 9-10 min (and lower if needed!), 10-10:30, 10:30-11, 11-11:30, 11-12, plus 2-3 different walk jog combo groups with varying paces based on membership. Walking: Paces from 15 min to 20+ min. miles!

What if I can't make the first day or am going to miss multiple days?

That's totally OK! It's common that certain weekends won't work for your schedule, which is why we offer our training plan that you can follow along whether you're traveling or working on a given weekend. The first day is mainly introductions as well, so you have plenty of opportunities to get set!

Are there weekday workout options?

YES! They are not mandatory, but we STRONGLY encourage you to look at the group workouts at the bottom of this page and join fellow members there.
