GLOW is a queer variety open mic and sober space hosted by the iconic KJ Whitehead. This open mic is for comedians, poets, and musicians who wanna share their work - whether it's a polished comedy set or a small haiku you wrote on the bus 10 minutes ago: we'd love to see it!

MEET YOUR HOST: K.J. WHITEHEAD
Kujichagulia Juniper Whitehead is the Queen of Radical Comedy. With a career spanning over a decade, she's entertained the city of Chicago (and beyond) with her comedic and playful storytelling and observations on race, gender, mental health and many other prevalent topics. Her credits include the Laugh Riot Grrrl Comedy Festival (Los Angeles, CA), Midsommarfest (Chicago, IL), Sixth City Comedy Festival (Cleveland, OH) and was nominated "Best of Fest" of the Northwest Black Comedy Festival (Portland, OR). She has also opened for well known acts such as Ron Funches and Marsha Warfield. K.J. is the co-producer/host of "G.L.O.W." at The Understudy and "Comedians That Are Gay", showing the 2nd Sunday of every month at the Lincoln Lodge.
