JVS Global Table TO GO 2022

About this event

Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) is excited to invite you to participate in our annual fundraiser, Global Table TO GO. Global Table TO GO shows the tenacity and positivity of Kansas City and creates a space to learn about our different cultures from the comfort of your own home. Our 2022 fundraiser is accessible through a series of festive evenings of carry-out cuisine, cultural activities and enrichment that showcase refugee and immigrant restaurateurs. Our Global Table TO GO will take place over the course of four Monday evenings in May 2022:

  • May 2: Bun Mee Phan - TICKET SALES CLOSED
  • May 9: Sohaila's Kitchen - TICKET SALES CLOSED
  • May 16: Elsa's -TICKET SALES CLOSED
  • May 23: KC Burgers -TICKET SALES CLOSED

Event Sponsorship Levels are:

Lead Sponsorship: $10,000

Host: $5,000

Advocate: $2,500

Community: $1,000

How Global Table TO GO works:

1. Select any of the dates from the four options (May 2, 9, 16, or 23).

2. Select your preferred ticket option:

- Single evening package: This package comes with two meals for one night of your choice.

- Four evening package: Two meals for each of the four nights.

- Each evening will have a standard meat option and a vegetarian option. You will select your option at checkout. Gluten free meals available upon request (list in comment section).

3. To Purchase SPONSORSHIPS, please contact development@jvskc.org or 816-629-8942.

4. Following your meal purchase you will receive further information from JVS Staff regarding confirmation of your purchase, and a week prior to the date you will receive directions on pick up and your assigned meal time.

- On the day of the event(s), pick up your meal and tool kit at your assigned time you were provided (a time from 4:00-6:30 pm). JVS volunteers and staff will be at the restaurant to greet you and hand your items directly to your car.

5. Drive home and enjoy this international cuisine with family and friends!

If you are unable to enjoy an evening of international carryout cuisine, but want to support our work, please select the donation option at the bottom of the ticket list.

*Additional meals for individual nights may be purchased for $30 (subject to availability). Email development@jvskc.org.

Bun Mee Phan - Vietnamese | May 2, 2022

Meat Option

Appetizer: Chicken spring roll

Rice paper wrap, with grilled chicken, lettuce, pickled carrot & daikon, cucumber, cilantro, rice noodles served with peanut sauce

Appetizer 2: Vermicelli noodle

Rice noodles and jasmine rice served with chicken, lettuce, pickled carrots, cilantros, cucumber, jalapeños, and topped with roasted peanuts, fried onion and fish sauce

Entree: Chicken Bánh Mì

Grilled chicken sandwich with pate made of homemade butter, cucumbers, jalapeños, cilantro, and pickled carrots

Deep-fried vegetarian pastry filled with potatoes and peas, served with jalapeño-cilantro-lime chutney

Basmati rice and chicken (flavored with cinnamon, cloves, star anise, cardamom, chili powder, turmeric, coriander, and saffron) with raita (mint yogurt sauce) on the side
