The Global AI Bootcamp is a free one-day event organized across the world by local communities that are passionate about artificial intelligence on Microsoft Azure.

The Cluj-Napoca edition of this event is hosted by Tecknoworks.

Workshop 3: Introduction to Azure Databricks
Synopsis: Azure Databricks is an Apache Spark-based analytics platform optimized for the Microsoft Azure cloud services platform. Designed with the founders of Apache Spark, Databricks is integrated with Azure to provide one-click setup, streamlined workflows, and an interactive workspace that enables collaboration between data scientists, data engineers, and business analysts.

Workshop 3: Hyperparameter optimisation strategies
Synopsis: Training ML models is hard but even more difficult is knowing the correct hyper-parameters to begin training with. FANG companies spend hundreds of GPU hours on trying to find the right combination of hyper-parameters that will lead to a successfully trained model. In this talk, we will first define what hyper-parameters are (and highlight some not so obvious ones along the way) and then go through a few methods for tuning them.

Radu Vunvulea - Group Head of Cloud @ Endava

Radu Vunvulea is a technology enthusiast working as Group Head of Cloud Delivery for Endava.

He has vast experience in different technologies and industries. Most of his time is spent working with the cloud, helping companies to innovate and finding solutions to their business problems.

He enjoys building bridges between people and helping others to grow.

He shares his knowledge on his personal blog and at different events where he is invited as a speaker. In his spare time, he drives an IT community and he is also a Microsoft Azure MVP.

Silviu Niculita - Software Professional, AI MVP @ Microsoft

Silviu is a passionate software professional focused on solving hard business problems with cutting-edge technology.

For the past 12 years, he has managed teams building and operating high-performance enterprise software systems from hardware architecture to design, development, quality assurance, and support.

Silviu's areas of interest are around how small teams can be most effective at building real software: high-quality, secure systems at the highest limits of robustness, performance, and flexibility.

Silviu has worked for groups like Microsoft, Siemens, Total Specific Solutions and 8X8. He is also a Microsoft MVP in the area of Artificial Intelligence.

Cristian Lungu - AI/ML Consultant

Cristian Lungu PhDc is an ML trainer and consultant actively working on Image processing and NLP related problems since 2015. He’s currently leading the Tecknoworks ML team. He also taught or teaches software and machine learning concepts in various formats in the past decade.
