About this event

Arts • Craft

The process of creating glass mosaics has been used in therapeutic settings as a symbol of how beauty can come from brokenness.  The process of taking imperfect and broken pieces to create something that is strong and resilient is symbolic of our journey through pain and difficult times. The new image that emerges from the broken pieces demonstrates how our  wounds, brokenness, and imperfections become stronger, more resilient, and more beautiful. The process of creating a glass mosaic requires two weeks to ensure proper drying. During the first week of the workshop, participants will develop an image for their mosaic and lay down the glass pieces. In the second week, participants will grout their mosaic piece and have the opportunity to process and engage in discussion about connections and adaptations for use within the classroom and school counseling environments.
