Dariel Fernandez – Miami-Dade County Tax Collector
Dariel Fernandez is the first elected Tax Collector of Miami-Dade County in over 60 years. A Cuban immigrant and entrepreneur, Dariel’s journey reflects a deep commitment to public service, community advocacy, and technological innovation. He previously worked in media and founded a successful marketing and tech firm, Ponemus Group.
Dariel has served on multiple civic boards and is President of Somos Más, a pro-democracy movement. His priorities as Tax Collector include expanding service access (especially for seniors and underserved communities), reducing wait times, and modernizing operations through technology. He is known for his strong values, family-centered leadership, and focus on delivering transparent and efficient government services.
