Yes, a signed letter can be provided for school records.

Does this event count toward the Master Composter course?

Yes, you will be able to receive credit for this volunteer event; a total of 4 hours.

Does this event also count as a field trip credit under the Master Composter Course?

No, we have scheduled field trips that are credited every 2nd Saturday of the month before our Community Composting event from 11am-12pm. You will need to register under Regpack, which can be located on the NYC Community Composting Network website.

Every 2nd Saturday of the month from 12pm-4pm, come participate in a "HotBox Composting" experience at Frank White Memorial Garden.

Join us on Saturday, November 8th from 12pm-4pm at Frank White Memorial Garden. A special Community Composting event, this will be an opportunity to learn about HotBox Composting, network with other community farmers here in NYC, and give thanks to our composting community. This will be an indoor (greenhouse) & outdoor event.

Garden Tour

We will ground folks on a tour of the garden and learn about how we process food scraps on site.

Volunteer

Participants will be able to participate in the process of HotBox Composting and learn about the 6 steps to breaking down food scraps from beginning to end. In addition to being a part of other fun activities being highlighted in the garden during the duration of the event.
