Microsoft recently published the results of their building footprint extraction from aerial imagery using deep neural network methodologies. The results appear to be very comprehensive in areas not obstructed by canopy cover. In Oregon, they created 1,781,820 building footprints using this technique and made it available for download as an Open Data Commons Open Database License (ODbL) dataset:

Several state agencies are already examining and using these data in a variety of ways. To reduce potential duplication of efforts and to plot out a course for incorporating these data into geospatial data processes across Oregon, the Geospatial Enterprise Office would like to convene a coordination group to explore the evaluation and use of these data.

Meeting Format

With so many important topics to discuss, it will be a real challenge to give each the appropriate amount of discussion time. To overcome this, we'll use an "unconference" format. Below are topics suggested to this point, but the list is mutable, so please submit additional topics. We will take some time at the beginning of the meeting to prioritize topics. Each topic will have a maximum of about 30 minutes for discussion and we'll go as far as we can using the time that we have. Don't forget to submit additional topics if you'd like to see them considered.
